Job Description
As the Crawler Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining crawler cranes to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo from vessels. Your expertise and precision will be critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our crane equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate crawler cranes to lift, move, and position heavy cargo and equipment, following safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Perform pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Interpret load charts and specifications to determine crane capacities, lifting configurations, and rigging requirements for various tasks.
- Communicate with ground crew and signalers to coordinate crane movements and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor crane operations and environmental conditions, such as wind speed and weather, and adjust operations as necessary to mitigate risks.
- Rig and de-rig crane equipment, including attaching and detaching lifting accessories, slings, and hooks, in accordance with safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including lift logs, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to crane operations, safety, and environmental protection.
Qualifications
- BSc, HND,or equivalent; additional training or certification in crane operation (preferred).
- Proven experience as a crawler crane operator, with a demonstrated ability to operate crane equipment safely and effectively.
- Valid crane operator certification/license
- Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load charts, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness, with the ability to maneuver crane equipment with precision.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety, with a focus on preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed.
