Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Commercial Manager to lead revenue generation, business growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships across our operations.
- The Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies, driving sales performance, managing key client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Business Growth:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and revenue streams to drive sustainable growth.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and industry trend assessments.
- Develop annual business plans, sales forecasts, and growth strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate business performance against established targets.
Sales & Revenue Management:
- Drive sales growth and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Establish and manage sales budgets, pricing strategies, and commercial policies.
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Develop initiatives to increase market share and customer acquisition.
- Lead contract negotiations with customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dealers, distributors, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Resolve major customer issues and commercial disputes promptly.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products and services.
Business Development:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Develop proposals, presentations, and commercial agreements.
- Explore expansion opportunities into new markets, products, or customer segments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to launch new products and services successfully.
Financial & Commercial Analysis:
- Monitor profitability, margins, and overall commercial performance.
- Analyze financial reports, sales trends, and market data to support decision-making.
- Prepare periodic commercial performance reports for management.
- Ensure optimal pricing strategies and cost-effective commercial operations.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial and sales teams.
- Set performance targets and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving business objectives.
- Coordinate closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Service teams.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manage commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper documentation and governance of commercial contracts and agreements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue growth achievement.
- Gross profit and margin improvement.
- Market share expansion.
- Customer acquisition and retention rates.
- Commercial contract value secured.
- Sales target achievement.
- Business development pipeline growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree (MBA) is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management will be an added advantage.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 – 12 years of progressive commercial, sales, or business development experience.
- At least 3 – 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience in one or more of the following industries will be an added advantage:
- Auto Financing
- Automobile
- FMCG
- Pharmaceutical
- Manufacturing
- Financial Services
- Consumer Goods
- Demonstrated track record of achieving revenue growth and profitability targets.
