- We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Finance at the Dangote Cement Obajana, Kogi State.
- As the Deputy Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the finance function to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with other departments within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Finance in strategic financial planning and analysis to support business decision-making.
- Drive the implementation of approved finance policies and procedures.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for management.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to improve financial performance.
- Manage the fixed asset accounting process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other departments on financial assessment of projects and business plans.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
- Optimize the utilization of financial resources and identify strategies for cost efficiency.
- Identify and manage financial risks to prevent revenue leakage.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants.
- Lead and mentor finance team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Stay updated with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities related to finance and accounting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
