Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor school income and expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Produce variance analysis reports and advise management on financial trends.

Fees & Revenue Management:

  • Manage school fee billing and receipting processes.
  • Reconcile tuition and other fee payments received.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and support debt recovery processes.
  • Prepare periodic reports on debtor balances.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable schedules.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

Banking & Reconciliations:

  • Manage bank transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform daily/weekly cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain petty cash records and conduct periodic reconciliations.

Payroll & Statutory Compliance:

  • Support payroll preparation and salary processing.
  • Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions (PAYE, Pension, NHF, etc.).
  • Maintain payroll records and staff financial data confidentiality.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Prepare financial schedules and supporting documents for audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and school policies.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.

Procurement Support:

  • Review purchase requests for budget availability.
  • Monitor procurement expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Support vendor selection and cost control initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification or part qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN, ANAN) is an advantage.
