Job Summary
- The Digital Marketing / Social Media Manager will be responsible for promoting the retail shop’s products online, managing all social media channels, and driving customer engagement and sales through digital campaigns.
- The ideal candidate will create content, monitor trends, manage online ads, and grow the brand’s online presence. This role requires creativity, digital skills, and a strong understanding of retail marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management:
- Manage and update social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp Business, etc.).
- Plan, create, and publish engaging content—photos, videos, reels, stories, and product showcases.
- Respond to customer messages, comments, and inquiries promptly.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual style.
- Grow the store’s social media followers and engagement rate.
Digital Marketing & Online Promotion:
- Plan and execute online marketing campaigns and promotions.
- Manage sponsored ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Google.
- Track digital performance and optimize ads for better reach and conversion.
- Promote new arrivals, special offers, and seasonal sales.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align online promotions with in-store activities.
Content Creation & Branding:
- Photograph and video products for marketing use.
- Create product descriptions, captions, and marketing copy.
- Design simple digital materials—flyers, banners, price lists, etc.
- Work with graphic designers (if available) to maintain brand aesthetics.
Customer Engagement & Conversion:
- Convert online inquiries into actual sales through effective communication.
- Direct customers to the store or online order channels.
- Follow up with potential leads and maintain customer lists.
- Develop email and WhatsApp marketing campaigns.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor analytics for social media accounts and websites.
- Track engagement, reach, growth, and campaign performance.
- Prepare weekly/monthly digital marketing reports.
- Provide recommendations for improvement based on data insights.
Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
- Identify trending products and content styles in the retail industry.
- Study competitors’ online strategies and suggest improvements.
- Stay updated with digital marketing trends, tools, and social media algorithms.
E-Commerce Support (If applicable):
- Upload products to online store platforms.
- Manage product descriptions, prices, and promotional updates.
- Track online orders and coordinate with sales for fulfillment.
Qualifications & Experience
- OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in digital marketing or social media management.
- Experience in retail marketing is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of online advertising tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads).
- Ability to create and edit simple videos and graphics.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong content creation and storytelling skills.
- Good photography and basic video editing abilities.
- Knowledge of social media trends and algorithms.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools).
