Job Summary
- Experienced business development professional with a strong track record in asset management, focused on growing AUM and building long-term client relationships.
- Skilled in delivering investment solutions across traditional and alternative asset classes, with a hands-on, client-first approach and a deep understanding of the market and regulatory landscape.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and target high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), institutional clients, corporate organizations, and retail investors.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into active investors.
- Promote the company’s investment products including mutual funds, fixed-income products, portfolio management services, and other investment solutions.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly AUM growth targets.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat investments.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews, performance updates, and investment advisory sessions.
- Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries, complaints, and service needs.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators that impact investment decisions.
- Identify new business opportunities and propose strategies for product positioning.
- Provide feedback to the product and investment teams on client needs and market demand.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, pipeline updates, and business development forecasts.
- Track client acquisition progress and AUM performance.
- Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and pitchbooks for prospective clients.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking engagements.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and product brochures.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with SEC rules, KYC requirements, and company policies.
- Oversee accurate completion of account opening documents and investment instructions.
- Maintain proper documentation of client interactions and investment transactions.
- Any other responsibilities falling within your capabilities and appropriate to the role you occupy.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management in financial services.
- Proven track record of raising assets and acquiring high-value clients.
- Experience working with Family offices, wealth managers, or financial advisors, Distribution channels
Competency and Skill:
- Ability to work independently and manage personal and team member time, keeping deliverables and deadlines top of mind.
- Strategic business development and sales planning
- Client acquisition and relationship management (institutional, HNW, wholesale)
- Portfolio management collaboration and investment solution design
- Deep knowledge of traditional and alternative asset classes
- Strong understanding of global financial markets and economic trends
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, SEC, FINRA)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and financial platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Morningstar)
- Data-driven decision-making and market analysis
- High-level stakeholder engagement and partnership development
