Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and disciplined Chef to join our restaurant kitchen team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring consistent taste and presentation in line with the restaurant’s menu and brand.
  • This role is critical to delivering excellent dining experiences to our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to the restaurant’s menu and recipes
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstations
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management
  • Properly store food items in compliance with food safety standards
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times
  • Assist in menu planning and food portion control
  • Minimize food waste and manage kitchen resources efficiently
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation
  • Handle kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certification:

  • Minimum of SSCE qualification
  • Culinary school training or professional chef certification is an added advantage
  • Food safety or hygiene certification is a plus

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or catering environment
  • Experience with local and/or continental dishes is an advantage

Technical & Culinary Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent standards
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Passion for cooking and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good time management and multitasking skills
  • Team spirit and strong work ethic
  • Physical stamina to stand for long hours.
