Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and disciplined Chef to join our restaurant kitchen team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring consistent taste and presentation in line with the restaurant’s menu and brand.
- This role is critical to delivering excellent dining experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to the restaurant’s menu and recipes
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstations
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Properly store food items in compliance with food safety standards
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times
- Assist in menu planning and food portion control
- Minimize food waste and manage kitchen resources efficiently
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Minimum of SSCE qualification
- Culinary school training or professional chef certification is an added advantage
- Food safety or hygiene certification is a plus
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or catering environment
- Experience with local and/or continental dishes is an advantage
Technical & Culinary Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent standards
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices
Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Passion for cooking and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Team spirit and strong work ethic
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours.
