Job Descriptions
- We are looking for an Architect/QA/QC Officer who will be responsible for overseeing architectural design tasks while ensuring that all construction activities meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- The role combines architectural creativity with rigorous quality assurance and quality control responsibilities on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural drawings, working drawings, and construction details using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Develop conceptual designs, schematics, and layout plans for new and ongoing projects.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in project planning, design presentations, and design coordination meetings.
- Advise the project team on materials, finishes, and design alternatives.
- Conduct site visits to ensure the project aligns with design intent.
- Collaborate with structural, MEP, and other consultants to resolve design conflicts.
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan.
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
- Monitor construction work at all stages: foundation, blockwork, concrete pours, steel works, roofing, finishes, etc.
- Prepare QA/QC checklists and ensure adherence by contractors and site teams.
- Review materials delivered to the site and ensure they meet required standards and specifications.
- Identify non-conformities, issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and ensure closure with corrective actions.
- Maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test reports, and site diaries.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality standards are upheld.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Sc.)
- Membership or student membership of ARCON, NIA, or related bodies (added advantage)
- Must have 3–5 years’ experience in architecture and site supervision
- Experience in QA/QC in construction is highly desired
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other design tools
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and quality testing methods
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills
