Perfection Motor Company Limited, established in 2013, a subsidiary of the Lee Group of companies was established in partnership with FAW China. Perfection Motor’s was given the sole rights to, assemble and market FAW heavy duty Trucks in Nigeria. Since our inception in 2013 we have made great strides in insuring that we will be ready to service our market by establishing our head office alongside a fully equipped workshop, Parts Department and not to mention an SKD assembly plant in Ikeja. Over the next few years we also have firm plans to establish a network of dealerships covering areas such as, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running
- Inspect engines and other machinery to determine repairs to complete, creating detailed reports to facilitate work scheduling
- Interact with customers and provide them with an explanation of required work and an estimation of the cost
- Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
- Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
- Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
- Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
- Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
- Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits
- Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification or degree
- Must have completed standard mechanic certification program
- Two years of experience working as a mechanic required, four years preferred.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
Preferred:
- Experience working with diagnostic computers
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic
- Good physical strength, grip strength, dexterity, flexibility and endurance
- Critical thinking, analysis and evaluation abilities
