Job Summary
- The Stock Officer is responsible for monitoring stock levels, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring proper storage and distribution of goods within the organization.
- The role ensures that stock movement is properly documented and that shortages or discrepancies are reported promptly.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock.
- Ensure goods are stored properly and safely in the warehouse.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess stock.
Stock Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Update stock cards, inventory systems, or software regularly.
- Conduct daily, weekly, or monthly stock reconciliation.
Stock Issuance:
- Issue materials or products based on approved requests.
- Ensure proper documentation for all stock movement.
Stock Audits:
- Participate in periodic stock counts and audits.
- Investigate and report discrepancies between physical stock and records.
Warehouse Organization:
- Ensure proper arrangement and labeling of items in the store.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the store/warehouse.
Reporting:
- Prepare stock reports for management.
- Notify management about damaged, expired, or obsolete items.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
- Previous experience in inventory or store management is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail
- Good record-keeping and organizational skills
- Basic computer and inventory software knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with numbers and reports.
