Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial health of our company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial information to guide management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and update general ledgers, journals, and account balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support the company’s financial planning.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT, and other statutory obligations.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate salary payments to staff.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring that financial records are accurate and compliant.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity.
  • Manage vendor payments and customer invoices, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide financial insights by analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize the company’s spending and profitability.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
