Job Summary

• Our client, a reputable firm in the construction and real estate industry is seeking to hire an in-house legal Counsel.
• The Lawyer will provide legal advisory and compliance support across construction and real estate operations, ensuring that the company operates within Nigerian legal and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, NDAs, and agreements
• Provide legal advice on property transactions, leases, and land documentation
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and government agencies
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws, construction, real estate, and corporate laws
• Handle dispute resolution, represent the company in disputes related to construction projects, and legal risk management
• Maintain proper legal records and filings
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety laws during construction projects

Requirements

• LL.B and BL; called to the Nigerian Bar (minimum of 2:1)
• Minimum of 5 years post-call experience
• Experience in construction and real estate law is an advantage
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian property and commercial law.
