Job Description

  • Develop and administer HR plans and procedures that relate to company personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and control activities and actions of the HR department.
  • Contribute to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Maintaining physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts and PTO requests
  • Update internal databases with new hire information
  • Create and distribute guidelines and FAQ documents about company policies
  • Publish and remove job ads
  • Schedule job interviews and contact candidates as needed
  • Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related metrics like the total number of hires by department
  • Develop training and onboarding material
  • Respond to employees’ questions about benefits (for example, number of vacation days they’re eligible for)
  • Liaise with legal advisors where necessary to mitigate employment-related risks
  • Maintain fair and transparent communication between management and employees
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labour laws and regulations
  • Serve as the organisation’s representative when dealing with regulatory authorities (Ministry of Labour, pension and tax bodies)
  • Handle audits, inspections, and statutory reporting requirements relating to the HR department
  • Basic understanding of QMS and FSSC 22000 requirements, including personal hygiene policy and applicable departmental operational control procedures in order to ensure safe product/service conformity

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Psychology, or related field.
  • A Master’s Degree (MBA, M.Sc., HRM, Industrial Relations) is an added advantage.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or CIPD is strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience working in consulting, corporate advisory, or quality management environments is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR compliance requirements relevant to the organization’s operating jurisdiction.
  • Maintaining physical and digital personnel records like employment contracts and Paid Time-Off (PTO) requests
  • Updating internal databases with new hire information.
  • Creating and distributing guidelines and FAQ documents about the company.
