Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems.
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair and replace faulty vehicle components and parts.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling, and exhaust system repairs.
- Carry out engine and transmission-related inspections and repairs.
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and other scheduled maintenance.
- Conduct road tests to verify repairs where appropriate and permitted.
- Use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and service manuals correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and work completed.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures, and safety standards.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
- Report major faults, additional repair requirements, and safety concerns to the supervisor or service advisor.
- Work effectively with other technicians and workshop staff.
- Complete assigned jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or other relevant automotive/mechanical qualification.
- Previous experience as an automotive technician is preferred.
- Good knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals and repair instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work safely and responsibly in a workshop environment.
