Job Summary
- We are seeking to engage a diligent, detail-oriented, and commercially aware Accountant to manage the company’s financial operations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, tax compliance, client invoicing, project cost tracking, and providing timely financial reports to management. This role is critical to ensuring financial discipline as the company scales its operations across multiple service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, staff expense claims, and client invoicing.
- Process payroll and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions, including PAYE, Pension, NSITF, and NHF.
- Manage tax compliance, including CIT, VAT, and WHT filings, while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
- Track project costs against budgets, prepare job cost reports, and highlight variances for management review.
- Perform bank reconciliations, manage petty cash and cash flow, maintain financial controls and documentation, and support budgeting, audits, and financial planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- ICAN, ACA, or ACCA qualification (or student membership with proven progression for junior candidates).
- 2–4 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in engineering, construction, oil & gas, or other project-based organisations is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance.
