Job Description
- The Finance Officer will assist in managing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance
- This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategies that align with the company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Assist in developing and overseeing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Budget Management:
- Manage the preparation and implementation of budgets.
- Monitor and report on budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of financial resources.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including board members and investors.
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial reporting systems and processes.
Cash Flow Management and Treasury:
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements to optimize cash management, liquidity management, and treasury operations.
- Receivables & payables management.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and company policies.
- Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, conducting regular risk assessments.
Job Requirements
- (B.Sc) or Upper Credit (HND) in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2- Maximum 4 years working experience in finance/accounting
- Experience in oil and gas is a plus
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- ICAN ACA. ACCA certification is a plus.
- Must be a resident of Portharcourt city
Skills & Ability:
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities with little or no supervision.
