Job Description

  • The Finance Officer will assist in managing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategies that align with the company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Assist in developing and overseeing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Budget  Management:

  • Manage the preparation and implementation of budgets.
  • Monitor and report on budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of financial resources.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including board members and investors.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining financial reporting systems and processes.

Cash Flow Management and Treasury:

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements to optimize cash management, liquidity management, and treasury operations.
  • Receivables & payables management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and company policies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, conducting regular risk assessments.

Job Requirements

  • (B.Sc) or Upper Credit (HND) in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2- Maximum 4 years working experience in finance/accounting
  • Experience in oil and gas is a plus
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • ICAN ACA. ACCA certification is a plus.
  • Must be a resident of Portharcourt city

Skills & Ability:

  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficient in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to  work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities with little or no supervision.
