Summary
- The Human Resources Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting workforce planning in a printing firm.
- The role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, performance management, and maintaining a productive and safe work environment aligned with production demands.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Coordinate recruitment for production, technical, and administrative roles
- Screen applications, schedule interviews, and conduct reference checks
- Prepare appointment letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation
- Conduct employee orientation and induction programs
Employee Relations & Welfare:
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances
- Promote positive employee relations and workplace discipline
- Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
- Coordinate employee welfare initiatives
Payroll & HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate employee records (attendance, leave, contracts)
- Coordinate payroll processing, overtime, and shift allowances
- Manage leave administration and staff schedules in line with production needs
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information
Performance Management & Training:
- Assist in implementing performance appraisal systems
- Identify training needs, especially for machine operators and production staff
- Coordinate training programs, safety briefings, and skills development
- Support succession planning and employee development
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, occupational health & safety regulations
- Implement HR policies and procedures consistently
- Assist with audits and statutory reporting (e.g., social security, insurance)
- Support management in disciplinary and termination procedures
Health, Safety & Work Environment:
- Promote workplace safety in line with printing industry standards
- Coordinate safety training and incident reporting
- Support compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–4 years’ experience in an HR role (manufacturing or printing industry preferred)
- Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Experience handling blue-collar and shift-based workforces is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR/payroll systems
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor
- May require flexibility to support shift-based operations
