Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control and harvesting processes.
- Developing and managing the farm’s budget, including forecasting costs and revenues.
- Ensuring optimal use of resources, such as land, labour, machinery and finances.
- Ensuring that farm buildings, machinery and equipment are well maintained and in good working condition.
- Training and supervising farm workers and other staff members.
- Organizing work schedules and assigning tasks to ensure efficient operation.
- Identifying and researching markets for farm products.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma in Agriculture or related discipline from a reputable educational institution
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Integrated Farm Management
- Proven experience in managing teams of workers
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a diverse team
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and emergencies
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Must think independently to make decisions under pressure.
Compensation
This is a full-time role with competitive salary.
